Any things that should be done in advance of velious?

Main thing I am thinking is lvl up tradeskills for shawl quests. Am i right in thinking that you can't get others to make things for you, but you have to do them all yourself?

Any other pre-velious prep needed? Should I try to sell any gear now b4 velious makes it redundant?

Can i do some advance whining about not being able to raid velious dragons, or best to wait until actual launch :)

1. Arrange to get laid off from job so you can collect unemployment
2. Get injured on last day so you can collect disability
3. Sign up for Amazon Prime so all your food and household items can be delivered to your door.
4. Tell friends and family you are leaving the country and don't know when you will be back to cut down on RL distractions.

Oh that isn't my plan. I can't compete with the beards.

Can't compete either, so the best way to win is to not play.

If you want an item and it's perma-camped, there's only a few things you can do. Either buy it or stop wanting it.

Once you get it in your head that there's no "needs" in EQ, only "wants", the game becomes much more enjoyable.

A lot of people are focusing their energies on things they want, thinking that after this item or this amount of plat, "i'll be fine then".

That's a fallacy, the human mind always wants more.

I look forward to having Kerra Isle all to myself when Velious launches.
