I can understand that. Just understand that we really didn't like the people were fighting and vice versa. It's kinda like asking Israel to stop taking Palestinian land because it's the right thing to do. Not happening without outside intervention.

Holy Fuck immersion levels still at record highs with this one.

There are still problems in both classes. Yet, casual gamers are now able to see and meaningfully participate in the end game. This server is a dedicated museum to everquest, and it was a damned shame that the casual was never given the opportunity to participate on a reasonably occasional basis. The whole point of a museum is that the public gets to see the exhibits.

There are still problems, but the creation of a protected class wasn't just a good idea; it was downright decent. Anyone who can't see that is the entitled party.

I guess I didnt look closely enough to see any of it. I logged in chatted with friends and if I was told to raid showed up to raid. If there was training to be done in VP I did what I could to help. I dont know about you but I have never experienced a batphone though I did experience the wakeup channel sometimes. I dont remember but didnt you raid also during that time you talk about being so horrible for the server? So if that is the case doesnt that make you just as guilty as those you are talking about now? Its easy to be self righteous when no one calls you out for being a hypocrit?

As far as entitled no I dont feel entitled at all my only goal in any of this is to be able to hang with friends and maybe make a few more. Who knows one day I may run for president and need them to vote for me.(not really that was a joke)

God, I hope I never find myself in one of those "The Purge" movies with TMO. Seeing as murder isn't against the rules for 24 hours, I'd be slaughtered for asking for a glass of fucking water from one of you. After all, it's not against the rules!

I would give you water and then give you a place to hide man.

Honestly the attitude isnt gone its hiding behind the guise of playing nice people in the raid scene are still trying to find loopholes in the rules that now apply and pushing to see how far they can go before they get raid suspended. It is just spread out among guilds now so 1 guild isnt getting all the raid suspensions. If it isnt a class C guild that is doing it then its a class R guild.

I raided that entire time. For many months. With a 50%ish attendance rate.

The issue was that the rules of the server did not enable casuals to ever experience the end game on any level. The rules have been changed so that hardcores can continue to do what they want to do and casuals are now allowed to experience the game at no real cost to the hardcore. It's literally a win/win situation. Yes, there are problems. A lot of them.

But everyone's lot has improved since the server has protected the casual. If anyone says that casuals deserve not even the barest of consideration or protection, then I am calling that person entitled. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Comparing thousands of years old religious tensions over a single holy land to P99 guild drama. This basically sums up the P99 raiding scene sadly

I mean the time frame is different, but if you waited awhile... Yes.

I am pointing out how hypocritical your being. Its like crying on the playground that bullying shouldn't be allowed then stealing some kids lunch money. How long did you play in this sandbox prior to 2012? That's when I started and as one of probably several I played in the sandbox as the rules you and other players had set at the time allowed. Hell yes if I was asked to train in VP I trained in VP. Because that is what you and other guildmates needed of me. Did I enjoy it ill say I had fun running the mobs back and forth but I felt really bad about almost anyone who died to those trains friend or rival alike. I didn't get upset when they killed me with a train either that was part of the game. It was fun to see if I could survive a pack of crazed dragonspawn and players alike.

Yet you sit there calling myself and others the villains while reaping the rewards of that villainy for years. If you didn't like it you should have said 'hai guys I cannot raid due to this is evil.' Or left or just gone into retirement like so many other great players have done over the years.

Should the rules have changed maybe? But vilifying players that their only crime was taking what was available and enjoying it however and for whatever reason is dumb. If you weren't willing to compete then sure do what you have to do to win the game. Change the rules if that is the only way but pat yourself on the back and move on.

The posts and vitriol in this forum and game is unhealthy for anyone.
