SoF Client Issues with P1999
 

I was thinking about when I tried to use SoF with P1999, and remember that there were zones that did not work right.

What all zones dont work with SoF?

I should be able to redirect in the source, the zone id that is available for the changed zones. Then it would be a matter of grabbing so old s3d files needed for those zones, and you should be able to use them.

Just thinking of trying to get those zones working.

So while I am playing, what all is not working SoF wise?

Zones? Etc?

When I tried it, North Ro was full of basic human models.

In addition to zone bugs, there was also a group bug where members using the titanium client could not see the SoF client user unless that person camped out. Also there is a linking bug with the SoF client, where the link is cut off and pieces of the code show up highlighted.

It was so annoying that I couldn't live with it and burned a titanium copy.

I recently installed SoF client and have had to frig around the install a bit to get it working.

-Had to use the following link to get the correct UIFiles for this to work (Thanks Savok for this).

-Nro/Sro/Oasis all models are basic human models. I had to copy across all the zone files for those zones from the Trilogy install to correct the issue.

-Highpass - you cant zone into it. (no way round this for me other than use titanium when i need to zone into highpass).

-The con system is different. Am now seeing light grey con mobs whereas I see Green mobs with Titanium. (See attachments)

-Finally, had to load up the classic spell graphics but this is just more than a personal choice than anything (again thanks Savok).

Cant think of anything else at the moment.

I've used the SoF client as well and have had lots of quirks pop up.

If I make a Dark Elf Necro or SK (or any other DE class that starts in Third Gate)
I popup in Qeynos instead and for a bind location (using /char) it says
"unknown zone" which means if I die I am sent to the Arena.
The same thing happens when I make a High Elf caster but not paladin or cleric
(again it seems zone related)

the "unknown zone" thing for where a toon is bound happens with most other
races too. The only one I've not consistently had the problem with is wood elves.
My gnome enchanter had the "unknown zone" bind issue too but he started in
the right city at least.
A bind from another player or GM does fix this problem.

I've tried going the bit torrent/DAEMON route but I need a complete idiot's
guide or something because I just can't get it to work.

The con system was changed with the release of 'The Serpent Spine' expansion to add extra levels of con (grey etc). You should just be able to edit the Targetindicator.ini to match the Titanium boxset (or just copy it out of my titanium default zip) and that should solve your issue.

I'll look to update the con system ini file for the SoF boxset download so that its included correctly.
