Calling All Computer Nerds *Ahem IT professionals*

I have no idea where else to ask, and Google hasn't turned up many answers, so I thought, why not ask my fellow EQ pals!

Here's the deal. I've been noticing a bunch of weird issues/problems creeping up on my computer in the last couple months, and it seems to be getting worse. When I click on things, especially online, say, to open a new tab or window, it opens 2-3 tabs. When I single click on things, it's like a I double or triple clicked. Sometimes my right click doesn't work. Sometimes I can open up a menu, but I can't scroll. Sometimes I can scroll but not click. The latest thing is that I can use the mouse to highlight things or drag a box to select multiple things. I try but as soon as I let go of the button it disappears. Mind you these all seemed to come on gradually, and some days/hours it seems worse than others.

I am horrendous when it comes to technology, so reformatting the hard drive or starting over like that is more or less out of the question, unless I could pay someone locally to do it.

Does this sound like a virus to you guys? What is a good, no sh!t, easy, and preferably free virus/spyware/adware detection/removal tool? Does it exist?

as an IT professional i would suggest buying an alienware and making sure it has several LED lights on it since viruses die in the presence of LED lights

cloaking polymorphic trojen; time for a new HDD or get a new pc. Alienwares are dope but super over priced... Make sure you get a good monitor if you do blow a load on a new pc otherwise your fancy video card will go to waste (if your not just playing EQ)

ur mouse is bad??

Samoht 05-10-2015 05:16 AM

Try a different mouse. If the new mouse behaves in the same way, reinstall.

sounds like a mouse issue yep, if its a fancy gaming mouse, try reinstalling the driver software for it

Swish 05-10-2015 09:33 AM

How old is the mouse?

PDX0621 05-10-2015 02:55 PM

Mouse is fairly new. I'll try updating drivers/software for it and see what that does. Thanks for the suggestions!
