What bands/musicians do you think will stand the test of time? Excluding classic composers like Wagner, Bach, etc. Who are the musical geniuses of the 20th and 21st centuries that will be listened to in the 22nd century and beyond?

The band created a genre of music that will live on. Musical genius?? Why not!

unfortunately for music in the last 15 years, it is not the greats who will be remembered, it is the popular. Is Justin Beibler an artist? no. will he be remembered forever as a defining character of this generation? Yes. its sad; really fucking sad. the true artists have no recognition, and will likely die with having only being heard by those who seek great music rather than passively listen.

So Nirvana created the grunge sound, lol? Pretty sure grunge started in the mid 80's and became successful in the early 90s. Hell, even the Pixies and Fugazi predate Nirvana and are much more distinct and talented bands.

Eminem. If rap survives the recent drought, they will remember his lyricism.
