Stone of Morid BiS for Ikky Monks on Blue?
 

Thinking about buying a proper range slot item for my 51 MNK. He's an IKS, so he can use the Stone of Morid. He plays on Blue, tho, so not sure whether to get a Stone or an Idol of the Thorned.

Any input?

Ice comets do tend to suck. If you're the poor guy pulling Chef camp in Seb, a froggy crown (20 CR), a morid (30 CR), and a seahorse scale cloak (35 CR) might be enough to keep you alive. Definitely want those for Velious. BIS, I dunno.

I have one I never use on my monk - just not a lot of raid bosses where I'd stack Fire/Cold over Magic. Idol of the Thorned is much more used for DPS situations.

For normal exp situations in groups, I've always got Javs equipped.

i wear stone of morid like 95% of the time

the str from idol of the thorned is negligible unless you have shitty gear and can't hit the str cap, and at that point you're trading some AC and 60? hp for 30 cold/fire

seems like a no brainer to me, stone of morid is an item waaaaay ahead of its timeline
