The Castleton Corners family who barricaded themselves in their apartment following a shooting kept "a hammer with a spiked ball attached to the end," also known as a morning star, on their kitchen table, authorities say.

Police got a warrant to search the apartment, where they found the aforementioned morning star on a kitchen table, as well as a dagger and an expandable baton in a bedroom drawer, court papers allege.
