Windows 10 - EQ is really zoomed in for some reason.

I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro today on my main gaming comp, and since then, EQ has been really zoomed in. I normally play in windowed mode, on a 2560x1440 screen, at a 2540x1400 windowed resolution. Been fine for a long time. When I started it up after the upgrade, the window was so huge it cut into my other monitor, like it was extra blown up. Since then, I've had to reduce down to a 2040x1100 windowed resolution. Everything looks...zoomed in or something. Weirdly blown up, like it isn't scaling right.

Tried fullscreen out, and it just gave me the old "ResetDeviceFailed()" error. Not sure what is going on. Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you update your video card drivers too?

Thulghor 08-20-2015 09:31 AM

Yep. Running two ATI Radeon HD 5970's in Crossfire with the latest 15.7.1 drivers for Windows 10. I guess I could try reinstalling them, but everything else seems to work fine. EQ plays fine for the most part, other than this resolution issue.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

The one in Thurgadin Mines is before, the one in EC Tunnel is after.

Had to redo my whole UI positions over it.

Check display settings (nothing to do with driver). For me the whole desktop was zoomed after upgrade, but i could set it back.

Heh, thanks man. Even though it said 2560x1440, changing the resolution to 1920x1080, then changing it back seemed to fix it. I'll play around and see if it happens again.

Well, it doesn't stay consistent. When I logged out and logged back in, it was all messed up again. However, ALT + Enter, then ALT+Enter again fixed it. So I suppose that works for now. Wish I knew what was causing it to initially be all blown up though.

Windows probably scaled your ui automatically, if you look under display settings you will find a setting that allows you to choose how much it enlarges stuff. On my big screen for example windows scales to 150% of normal, but unfortunately that setting does not play well with EQ and you have to set it back to 100% before logging in. Hope this helps.

I'll try it out later today. Thanks! Still figuring out all the new stuff in Windows 10.

weird..

while i had windows 10 EQP99 kept freezing on me every few minutes or so, it'd come back and i'd be able to run around but then just like clockwork it would freeze up again later on.

I reverted back to windows 7.. im done with that mess until they fix it
