Norrath Map

I bring this to conversation because I would like to know if a Map Utility NorrathMap is allowed to be used on P99 or not, I was informed about this utility a week or so ago, and would like clarification before getting in trouble on the server. This utility reads log files and gives you a map in a separate window based on where you are from the log file, as long as /log is set to on.

Can a Gm please reply to this topic and let us know if it is ok or not ok to use, Thank you.

yes, it's allowed because it just reads log. read the EULA when you start p1999

I had read it in 2010, and recently when coming back. But you never know till asking to be safe, there was just some discussion over it is all. Thank you for posting friend. Best of luck on your kills.

There is a EULA you have to accept for p99 everytime you log in. Thats where it says it.

I wanted to complain that people using an ingame map is not classic, then i remembered I play with my Ipad next to me with wiki maps pulled up at all times....some things cant stay 1999 i suppose.

Don't see what's unclassic about this, I always kept a pad next to me when I played too. It was just analog... You could always alt-tab out to the internets w/ eqw or print everything off and store it in a nice three-ringed binder ^^

eqw prototype wasn't developed until december 2000 iirc. A working, downloadable copy that was more than 3-5fps was some time in 2001/2002. (source needed)

We should pin the dates down. I remember using it in Velious and though a native window mode was incorporated w/ SoL or was that POP?

https://web.archive.org/web/20020719...eqwindows.com/

Earliest snapshot of eqwindows.com is July 2002 showing Beta 2.22 Earliest list of updates is September 2001. Before their own site, EQW had a subforum on hackersquest.

There was also WinEQ at some point.
