Beneficial buffs not generating agro
 

Currently, no beneficial buffs that normally would generate agro are generating agro. I know that's vague but cleric and ranger buffs don't generate agro when a mob is attacking someone and you buff them.

Ranger skin buffs, thorns, sow, serpent sight (wingblade) don't generate any agro.

Cleric hp buffs of all sorts don't generate agro.

Heal spells generate agro.

so i was like using bard songs in my group and they all wiped and i didnt have agro

Beneficial bard songs don't generate any threat whatsoever, including HEAL and regen songs.

This also means that if you don't initially aggro or punch the mob you get no faction hits. :eek:

I can confirm that at least some beneficial spells do indeed create certain amounts of agro.

I don't know the exact numbers of course but things such as group chloro and Berserker strength do can generate quite a bit.

Are all buffs supposed to generate agro? I can't imagine something as inane as serpent sight having an agro component. (Faction hit maybe... if you are casting it mid-fight).

I'm talking about you buff someone that has agro on an indifferent mob (it's hitting them) and you don't end up on the hate list (the mob is still indifferent instead of threatingly). This used to wipe raids because someone would buff a monk while they had agro, and everything would train in. This is not happening, so now I have to go out of my way to wipe a raid.

This thread reminds me of the hundreds of times I've cast pack chloro on the tank group in the middle of a pull.

Yeah, no faction hits occur and no agro occurs. This was tested also with the bard heal song - I agrod a mob that gives -faction and upon killing it, the bard did not receive a faction hit. It's like they aren't casting anything.

We know what caused this... should be fixed for next patch.

i dont know if its always been like this, but Mend Bones on my skeleton pet just seconds after a fight starts AND I sit down does not pull threat while any DoT will instantly. I can chain heal my pet too and always sit. Never aggros.
