Is the Paineel Newbie Area Open?
 

I think I'm in the right place but there is a giant wall blocking the tunnel. Is that correct or am I in the wrong place.

You have to click (press U) on the rock 3 times with the key on your pointer to activate the lift. If you don't have a key tell the guard next to the lift "I need keyz"
