Just finished writing this quest - I think it's the longest one I've done.

I completed the quest on live to verify how each step should work and fill the gaps from the online guides.

These are the unanswered questions I have:

7. Guides mention being able to ask Thurgadin dwarves "What can you tell me about a Dragon Slaying?" and receive the response "Hmmm, not sure about that meself. Try askin Sarl, he'd be knowin a bit about Dragon lore." The npcs on live did not respond.

figured this quest would be an afterthought considering how long and convoluted it is

I guess this won't be implemented until after the Warrens is in since you need an NPC in there for the quest.

The "two hander upgrade" referenced in one of the comments is the massive game wide retroactive upgrade of many two handed weapons on October 8, 2001. Many of these upgrades are already in game even before the June 2001 Velious general upgrades and the October 2001 2-hand upgrades.

I don't know anyone that did this quest for the Naginata, so pin point date may be difficult. :P If I had to bet, I would guess it was upgraded in October 2001.

Additionally, the quest was bugged for a few months it appears and required the player to farm 2x Starmetal Ore as the hammer/chisel would not break it into two, but just one constituent piece.

Bump for questions in OP.

Nilbog, if you completed the quest on live open up the tradeskill containers using the live TS Window and search for the recipes listed. If you already combined them recently it should've saved the recipes and it will list what they are all trivial at.

If you can't do this I could maybe run the quest on live and check myself.

At the forge in eqlive, if I search for example.. Chronium Plate, nothing shows up beneath Known Matching Recipes:

I don't believe all trivials are stored there for everything, such as these quest combines. If I'm doing it incorrectly, someone let me know.

Some recipes don't save but there are some quest ones which do save. It seems random which they allowed to save and which they didn't. I haven't used the TS interface on live in awhile, I may poke around on it tonight to see if you were doing it wrong / I wasn't remembering how it was done. I will try a combine or two also.

The game would return logs of "you have learned a new recipe" also, so if you search logs for "Chronium" you may see if it includes logs of whether you saved the recipe or not.

Beyond that figuring out exact trivial values will be rough. Just some low/high ranges that exist from the comments.
