Sanfyrd Featherhead scrap metal quest
 

This is a level two quest which involves giving 4 scrap metal.

Only level 30ish mobs drop the scrap metal (guides and metal spider guards). That seems off kilter.

Why not have the rogue clockwork in Steamfont have this as part of their loot table?

Looking at the Wiki, the quest gives Ak'Anon based factions. But the only things that drop the scrap metal are things that reduce Ak'Anon faction?

Try killing rogue clockworks level 2.

I have killed rogue clockworks in all areas of Steamfont. They drop sprockets and such and often the rusty blackbox. Never do any of them drop scrap metal.

This scrap metal quest is the best means to raise Akanon merchant faction. It would be a means for low level chars to do so, if there there were any drops of scrap metal.

As it is, doing the ale quest in Erudin is left as the means to raise the Akanon faction. There are other quests which raise merchant faction but they take much time. Raising Akanon merchant faction is only available to those have 3 figure platinum to spend.

Making faction gains available to lower level chars will give more options of low level chars to use Steamfont and Faydwer in general.

On the commercial servers this has been corrected by having rogue clockworks drop scrap metal. This or having another spawn line such as runaway clockwork dropping scrap metal would fill this gap in questability.

This change would not make gaining faction an easy task but it would make gaining faction possible (besides having lots of platinum).
