Wizard Wards

The wizard ward line of spells such as Diamond Skin and Steelskin are not absording spell damage. In fact they seem to specifically only absord melee dmg.

Same goes for Enchanter Runes.

I've been taking AOE damage regularly in Kedge without my rune ever fading.

bump....they absorbed both types of damage on live. It wasn't until Protection of Calrena (which actually stacked) did we have one specifically for spell absorption.

Also note - Leatherskin, Steelskin, etc did NOT absorb DoT damage. Only DD spells, and melee damage.

I don't remember that line of spells aborbing spell damage, but admittedly I could be mistaken. I thought spellshield was the first spell to prevent any spell damage (that a wizard could cast).

Like I said, I could be wrong, but I think I would remember it preventing spell damage since I played on a pvp server and pretty much had to run around fully buffed at all points to survive :)

They did absorb all damage.

Edit: Excluding dots which bypassed them.

Ya I played PvP also and they absorbed all damage except DoTs. When I would fight a NEC, they usually would load DoTs then Lifetap. Only problem is by the time they start to Lifetap, theyre at 30% life and my Steelskin would absorb the lifetap thus NOT giving them life. They die, I dispell the DoTs and I'm left alive at 50-60% becuz the Skin would absorb the DD (Lifetap) but NOT the DoT.

bump....

Bump, because of this bug we can't rune/manastone as we used to be able to on live

Bushido 09-20-2010 12:56 PM

I had my diamondskin absorb a modrod once on here. That's the only time it has absorbed any type of spell damage. So I'm guessing it's semi coded in or not checked properly.
