What's the point?

Guilds.

This game has them. There are purposes of joining them such as, having people to hang with, help out and raid. Also, prove that your guild can beat the competition (other guilds).

One of the coolest things to do is beat other guilds to content.

So....

What the hell is the point of having a guild if you, your guild, is unable to beat certain content without teaming up with another guild?

1. So you can get the experience of what it takes to do it on your own.

2. Get some loots that you would normally not be able to.

3. Even though the circumstances are not "your guild did it", you still get to say, "Ya, we did that".

Doing this....once or maybe a couple times, I personally think, OK that's cool. But, consistently teaming up with other guilds to do content instead of building your own guild up so you can be known as a bad ass guild who can do this, while others can't, is just lame. It's more than lame, it's flat out wussy crap.

Do yourself a favour if you are going to work together. Merge. Don't be scared, just do it. Stop making yourself look like you suck by needed the help of another guild.

JUST MERGE!

Are you upset because an alliance of guilds won another FTE from your guild?

Clasick 11-04-2015 03:49 PM

It's ok OP
it does not affect you in any way how other guilds kill mobs.
Don't be jelly because you have a massive loot line up behind your massive guild roster !

Trust me when I say BDA, we get a lot of loots and people get all worked up over it. I'm proud of that. As for winning FTEs, good for you and good for us.

Don't avoid the subject focus here.

JUST MERGE

Personally, I would like to see games accommodate merc guilds ^^ Small bands of überness that can help YOU tackle content normally out of reach... For a small fee ^^

Oh and Gimpatron, doesn't need to merge. They are already have a name for their alliance.

Guild and raid leaders, along with the brown nosing officers they employ typically take the role on because at one level or another they enjoy the power trip or in some cases, as with some raiding guilds, they get to look after their pals first...and keep new members well away from the precious pixels (after all Soandso has been in the guild for YEARS, his 6th alt deserved that item over the new member on his main)

Anyone know of any guilds like that?

I've never been an officer in an EQ guild, or WoW or anything else...its more fun to just enjoy the game you're playing without all the politics and drama.

I'm afraid to join any guild.

In a word, drama.

Some people are adults and can deal with each other in a professional and friendly manner in order to take down big targets through jolly cooperation.

None of these people play EQ.

Raid guilds push themselves, and each other, to the limit of what is possible in this game. When you play at that level, people get stressed out and start to get a little cranky with each other. When people rub each other the wrong way and have to deal with each other lots (through guild chat and other social aspects of guilds), it creates drama.

Drama doesn't really matter, except it tends to get on other peoples' nerves. And since there are no adults in this game, people behave badly. They RMT on guildie's accounts. They talk shit about each other. The ragequit the guild and cause a ton of problems on the forums. This takes attention away from pixels.

Forming an alliance with another guild to get to the full zergforce is one way that guilds can deal with these social/non-pixel issues. If I really hate you, but you and I are in different guilds and have to go out of our ways to talk to each other, then we're less likely to get irritated with each other and distract our officers.

I participate in the camp-money-loot sockfest. Doing a 16 hour sock doesn't bug me at all. That's what netflix, juggs, and fear respawns are for.

I know this in Rants'n'Flames, but just don't throw mud on people whom you really have no interaction with. It gives you and the people you don't know bad name. We all have jobs/obligations, families, and there are those who hold themselves to a professional standard. And guess what... people in professional settings also get upset. Hell, they might even yell at you and call you bad names. It might get so bad that you will get sued.

This is a community. The more people realize this and treat each other with respect without trying to shit on other people everything would be better. Let the competition remain in game in lieu of bold statements of disrespect.
