Is it a double-death-penalty weekend?
Up until 35 I was losing around 7-8% exp on death (Iksar monk).
Today at 36 I'm losing 15% which seems a bit harsh. 2 deaths , 30% of a level down the drain.. So is this a classic feature I don't know about or is it a bug of some kind? |
exp loss is based on the amount of exp it took for you to reach your last level, normal.
|
Hmm can you explain that a bit more?
I always thought it's a fixed amount. 35 was a hell level for me with lots of deaths so it took a big amount of XP to reach 36. Does that mean now that I will continue losing 15% at 36 or what, don't understand the system. |
It doesn't matter how many times you died during 35. Just that it's a hell level. So when you die at level 36, you lose the equivalent of 8% of level 35 exp. Since 36 is not a hell level, that ends up working out to be more like 15% of 36 as you described.

A consequence of this is you lose a lot of xp dieing during the next level. The silver lining is 36 is a fairly short level so get plenty of dieing in during level 37! |
From http://wiki.project1999.com/Game_Mec...ement_by_Level
Total XP to complete a level = L^3 * C * R * H Where: C = Class Multiplier R = Race Multiplier H = Hell Multiplier (based on level) C=1.0 (For all classes now), R=1.2 (Iksar), H=1.2 (Levels 35-39) Total XP to complete level 34 = 34^3 * 1.0 * 1.1 * 1.2 = 51,881 (Gain 4,444 exp from end of L33) Total XP to complete level 35 = 35^3 * 1.0 * 1.2 * 1.2 = 61,740 (Gain 9,859 exp from end of L34) Total XP to complete level 36 = 36^3 * 1.0 * 1.2 * 1.2 = 67,185 (Gain 5,445 exp from end of L35) This article does not say how much exp one loses on death. But from the numbers above, if death is a fixed amount of exp, then it will appear as a higher % in level 36 than level 35 simply because you only have to earn 5,445 exp to ding instead of 9,859. |
At this point in the timeline of the server someone usually has a pocket cleric who is able to click rez, always worth checking :p
