ive already googled that exact search. i should have revised my question. i already know the type of CPU can be overclocked. a better question would have been can it be overclocked with it being an OEM dell, with the bios i have, the kind of motherboard, etc. and if so, how? computer technology is not my area of expertise. it would be more ideal to have someone literally walk me through every step.

you will have better luck finding someone to walk you through it on tom's hardware. those are true nerds who love to shine their pocket protectors for you.

Think a better question is why would you want to overclock it? Your system isnt very high end and i would think the 4gb of ram you have compared to your CPU. Overclocking your CPU if its not the bottleneck for gaming or whatever else your doing is kinda pointless.

there is 8gb, yes its being recognized. why not overclock it if it has the capability? its an old piece of junk computer, its getting replaced eventually anyway, why not learn how to do it just for the sake of learning how to do it?

You're dumb for wanting to overclock your system to play a 16 yr old elf sim and asking about it on said elf sim forum.

Go to toms hardware and learn2ricer properly.

You could have been at least amusing and made up some 1999 system specs and complained about how velious was crashing your system and directx7 wasn't cutting it.

No .. most of those OE computers you cannot overclock. If you have the money and want something like that buy an alienware (designed for PC gaming).
