EMPIRE POWER RANKS 2: CUCKOLDS AND CONQUERORS
 

Jeni's thread, titled EMPIRE POWER RANKS - How do you stack up? was a brilliant piece of forumquesting. Although it was meant to discourage most members, it gave everyone in Empire a sense of where they stood within the guild in terms of loot received. The downside was that it was poorly thought out and lazily written. In essence, an Abashi Rod counted the exact same as a Typhoon even though that clearly isn't the case.

A followup thread was promised but never delivered.

I'd like to present you with CUCKOLDS AND CONQUERORS - a comprehensive analysis of Empire's loot structure and where it's members fall along the hierarchy.

1. Premise and Assumptions

There is no perfect way to analyze every member in a game like this. Quantifying individual contributions is impossible (or at lease more time consuming than I'm willing to endure for this thread). These values assume that everyone contributes the same amount at each raid even though pullers and clerics are typically doing more than druids or bards playing mana song.

Another assumption is that items are worth the same value across classes. Some items have been adjusted based on demand (gnome mask and AON are worth 10 even though the stats suck) or classes that can use (ToV items that can only be used by 1 class are worth less than items with similar stats that anyone can use). The item value list is as follows:



These values could be disputed and would not be consistent for every member's needs. Sleeper's keys were set to a 0 value although pretty much everyone who has one is opened to the world of Primal weapons (except for Gzaz.)

2. Methodology

In order to find out how each member was being rewarded, I started by looking at the total value of loot amassed. This is a simple sum of all items earned by each person based on the above values. This gives us our Loot Value. Although looking at loot values alone would give a decent idea of what players are earning it doesn't show enough about the value placed on the members. In order to acheive this, I then added a best in slot bonus. This doubled the loot value of having mulitple items rated 9 or 10. i.e., your second and third Vuulak loots are worth 20 instead of 10.

Once a total loot value is found, this is divided by the total number of raids attended to give you Raids per Loot Value. Players with less than 39 total raids attended were excluded i.e. Sickpuppy was not included even though he has earned two items and attended one raid.

I've also included a differential which is the diffence between your Loot Value ranking and your Attendance ranking within the guild.

As a bonus I've also done a calculation, Raids per Top Tier Item (or RPTTI) that shows exactly how many raids each person would need to attend before being considered on a Dozekar or Vuulak item.

All these scores should give you an idea of how your time is valued by the Aim Chat elite.
