I played it for awhile when it first came out. Cant remember exactly where I stopped, somewhere around the middle of the game I think. I got my castle up and running and put like maybe 30 hours into the game??? I just kind of forgot about PoE, I think Witcher 3 came out and I abandoned it.

Biggest complaint is that the power curve, you go from not being able to kill anything to be invincible from what I remember.

Its "meh" at best in my opinion. It tries to be an old school throw back RPG, and in many respects it achieves this…maybe its just not my cup of tea with the pause combat and clunky mechanics. I thought I was going to love it and remember being kind of disapointed.

Then again, my gaming preferences are all over the place these days. I feel like I am in game depression at the moment…not really into anything curently.

I loved BG2... I should give PoE a try... maybe one day when I'm able to play it on my tablet at work while waiting for clients...

I have something like 120 hours on my Steam file. Great game if you like CRPGs.

My only problem is by the time I got to the end of the game, I had wasted so much time doing so many side-quests I was quite simply burned out on the game and never had any desire to finish the main story. This same thing happened to me with Skyrim.

I have this problem with all single player "CRPGs" as I end up burning out way b4 the main quest and always avoid mainquests.

I never finished any of the BG games except BG1 once. Never finished ultima (even though I have thousands of hours in all those games) never finished Final Fantasy, never finished skyrim (never even got more than 50% of the main quest)...

I never got out of balmora in morrowind...

I did finish oblivion though.

This. Started out cool, but lack of dynamic meaningful castle building and interactions were the first disappointment.

Maintaining a keep was very shallow. I started to look at the mid-end game as shallow as a result. They should have gutted the Keep idea if they weren't going to flesh it out a little bit more. It was a tease that made you go hrmph that's it?

Does anyone here remember the game CASTLES II

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle...e_and_Conquest

Still fun as fuck to play even in 2016 (its addictive as hell), and shows how PoE could have added a few functions for the roleplayers who wanted a little more strategy RPG involved in maintaining a Keep.

Brb checking my DOS BOX emu n loadin castles II.
