FFXI Vanilla Servers
 

Howdy,

I was curious if there are semi-popular servers around for early FFXI. I've heard the latest expansions and the live game violate several of the core tenets that, in my view, made the game great.

Are there any servers comparable to the official-ness, competence, or population of P99?

Got it. Looks like Nasomi is healthy and running. Low pop and a bit buggy but not really fair to judge by P99 standards ;) The set up is unreal though. I thought P99 set up was hard!

http://nasomi.com Is the official website. The wiki instructions, http://nasomi.com/wiki/doku.php?id=new:first-time, are critical and significantly better than the website, and there is a Facebook groups named similarly.

I wonder why more people aren't interested in private classic FFXI servers.

There are a few, but Nasomi seems to be the best one in terms of being close-ish to classic compared to the others.
