EQN wasn't going to be Everquest. Looks like they finally conceded that point.

The classic game is solid, and a re-do where it is just simply brought graphically up to date and some non-fucked-up changes are put in, and bixies are made a playable race, would have an audience. But it is not enough for a business to find worthwhile. Let's say it was done perfectly. Exactly how everyone who likes classic eq wants it. ToV is even properly GM'd.

How many server you think DBG could populate? Maybe 3-4? That's just not enough. Eq is legendary, but it is not 20+ paying servers legendary.

If they would have done it up maybe at the 10th anniversary, would have been clever. But nope. They were working on voxels. It's what gamers crave.
