My brother did this on live once, died with all his gear on and was like "F this game, I'm done". Didn't even loot it since it could have the potential to draw him back in.

Maybe Vekzuul is just trying to cleanse himself..

I never even log out for an hour while i got a corpse on the ground... too paranoid!

Might be time for a disciplinary shake up, no corpse recoveries on expired ones. Bet he would have looted it ;)

I've done this... come back a year later kicking myself every time.
