50k... Fungi or Epic Tear?
 

Decisions... Not that I have 50k (yet) but if I did... which would be the better investment?

you need your epic to level - you can level without a fungi

Shaman epic is one of the very best - Epic > Fungi

No, but it makes it MUCH easier. I would take an epic over Fungi any day of the week.

Soloing is so much easier with epic. You can be naked with only your epic and solo to 60. Epic > Fungi

Your epic opens a lot more doors than a fungi would.
That being said, a fungi is a better investment (in that you can use it in alts or resell it...)

Fungi is like having clarity all the time, which also stacks with clarity and can be used for healing instead when you need HP instead of wanting to canni. Plus it can be resold for no loss.

Epic is great, but the clicky is of small use in groups/raids and is something that you could easily quest with most guilds eventually without having to pay for it. Fungi is awesome all the time and you effectively are just renting it from the open market until you want to sell it so you can buy torpor... and then you can go farm plat to buy another fungi anyway!


If I could afford to twink with a fungi AND an epic MQ, I would. But personally I'd rather do without the epic if I couldn't afford the fungi also, and just suck it up soloing with normal spells instead of epic clicks (and/or duo/group more often) until I can get the spear quested.

False. Cost of fungi is dropping. Cost of tear is rising. Makes for terrible investment. Unless you like to buy high and sell low. :confused:

I suspect this comment reflects out-of-date circumstances; it's accurate for Kunark, but not any more. The Golems in Plane of Fear have a several day spawn timer and are highly contested. Lower-end guilds stand virtually no chance of getting them, and even most the mid-range guilds get them only rarely. This is why the Shaman epic MQ cost is so much higher now than it used to be, and rising. It's also why you actually see level 50+ shamans nowadays who don't have the epic.
