Everquest causes more harm than good.

I use to think there was no harm in Everquest. I realized during my earlier childhood it helped with a variety of skills. Typing for one, and computer literacy ( constantly having to upgrade - 4mg vid card to 128 back in the day) etc.

It seems the veteran EQ players have some more mental disabilities than others. So the question remains : Does EQ cause people to be mentally stable , or do the people that played and enjoyed it already possesses these feats?

Let's take a look at Project1999:

Here we have an emulated server for people to play a game made in 1999 - 2001.
Lots of people player , but the majority of these people are very obsessed with this game. I think we can all agree this game is an addiction that just never seems to go. People often compare other games with core mechanics to this one.

I find it really odd that the apparent drug use on P99 is very rampant. This seems to me ,a very common familiar trait with degenerate sperg lords and Everquest Gamers.

Ultimately, this has led me to my conclusion : I think people would be better off if this game never existed, whether or not they could find some other thing-outlet- to coordinate their mental anguishes with , is yet to be determined.

One thing is for sure though. Kerwin is one sick fuck

Your reply wasn't even funny. It just shows you are really interested in gay porn and really love the idea of me in one. In other words you got cock mouth

My Favorite part is when people are the first to mention cocks. You see see I made this post... Then the first cock to pop out was out of your mouth... That says a lot.

Again, more cocks out of your mouth- no surprise here. Got any more things to say? Theres so much cock coming from your hands and mouth I think this thread will be a hit.

Good post but I have nothing to add at this time.

I will say that it probably isn't healthy for developing social skills. Also, it could be a dopamine destroyer.

DOTA 2/LoL etc are more of a dopamine destroyer than something like EQ, however it depends on how you interpret the theory of dopamine destruction. EQ could damage normal dopamine function by slowing down interactions and dopamine hits to an unnatural state.

Most EQ players will readily admit they are not a big fan of high APM games. (many have admitted this here). Is that BECAUSE of EQ?? Or is it a genetic predisposition?

I don't know. I can say though those people who played Tetris always baffled me...

DOTA 2/LoL etc are more of a dopamine destroyer than something like EQ, however it depends on how you interpret the theory of dopamine destruction. I know guys who ONLY play DOTA. They are completely cracked out, and the Leagues guys are even more cracked out (Leagues is higher sustained APM) Like their personalities are completely nonexistent, and they get angry easily when not plugged into DOTA or Leagues. They have to be handled with kid gloves and you mostly just don't speak to them because they are so cracked out.

EQ could damage normal dopamine function by slowing down interactions and dopamine hits to an unnatural state. You will notice heavy sedating drugs like marijuana, alcohol, and even opioids are big in the emulated scene. Is this a way to cope with the low APM and still get a stimulating feeling of pleasure despite the stimulus (on paper EQ shouldn't be that stimulating, its extremely low APM) ?

Most EQ players will readily admit they are not a big fan of high APM games. (many have admitted this here). Is that BECAUSE of EQ?? Or is it a genetic predisposition?

Reloaded the post with some expansion to flesh out what I mean in relation to reward and APM. unfortunately I cant explain the theory of dopamine destruction I don't have time for it and people would want to see scientific studies to back it up which I haven't had on hand for a few months now...someone on youtube put me onto it.

but DOTA 2/LoL are largely considered to be "neurotoxic" in a way that's profound, especially when its played for long periods of time by a neurotypical person.
