How do I get out of Paneel?

No key, no key ring, logged into and no guards.

See, there should be guards, but asshats like to kill them.

The respawn time for the guards isn't that long. Just ask whoever's killing them to spare one for a few seconds. If they categorically refuse, I'm pretty sure that's not allowed (like if someone were to lock down every banker in every city and just keep killing them so that no one could bank, or if someone were to go around charming decaying skeletons and buffing them with Shield of Lava, etc)

Yep Paineel is fun.

If the guards are not there ooc and the camper will open the door for you or will let the guards respawn. I had to do this on a few corpse runs.

If the guards are there:
Go to the guards at the gate and say, "I needz keyz." Click on the rock until the elevator comes down (about 3 times). Get on click the rock again to get the elevator to go up. At the top, if the door is not open click once to open it and go through. Note: small space opens on the right side, just wide enough to get through.

The fun really begins when you want to get to the mainland. It takes either a port or a run through Erud. I did the run at level 8 so I could use gather shadows to get through. Once in Queynos go invis to the gate or you'll have another long run. Most mobs are non-KOS but the caster guilds are. You can safely bind in North Queynos at the gate. Do this before going off to explore.
