Whirl till you HURL...

Anyone else remember this being changed to a mez like spell during early classic?

All I remember is not using it as much as I did here, but it has always been a stun.

Clearly underrated ATM. With clarity I can almost stunlock mobs. No more healer needed :-p

i think the enchs are well aware of it's usefulness :P

I didn't play in classic, just post-kunark, but I seem to recall almost never using the whirl line. It didn't seem to stun in quite the same way that all the other stun spells in the game did.

Was I a baddie? :(

No more tank needed. Doesn't seem to fit the Vision. I am pretty sure it was changed, I will do some digging.

OK from what I have read, mostly hearsay, it was used to level to 50 WAY to fast during the first couple of weeks of launch and was caught and nerfed into oblivion.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

From what I remember, an enchanter and 2 rogues from FoH used Whirl till you hurl/back stab/ping ponging against high level mobs to basically level to 50 in a week or so when EQ went live. Whirl was nerfed shortly thereafter.

I don't know the date, but I know it was nerfed so that damage would break the stun (fundamentally making it a mez) either with Kunark launch or shortly thereafter.

I don't think it was that damage broke the stun, I think it was more like DD damage and root, where it gave a chance to break the stun. However none of this matters unless we can find the patch message or other evidence showing what actually changed about it.
