"Kunark" - how do you say it?

Well?

coo-nark
que-nark
cun-ark

...or some other way?

Lhancelot 02-12-2017 02:05 AM

Coo-nar. The ending K is silent.

Jimjam 02-12-2017 04:53 AM

Coon, as in racoon, ark, as in big boat of the Jewish world flood story.

KANNARK

Kunark. Ku-Nark. (Koo-Knark). Not especially hard even for those of us not trained in phonetics.

If you want a real mystery how do you pronounce Thurgadin? Thur-Gay-Din? Thur-Gah-Din? Thuh-R-Gyd-In?

Troxx 02-12-2017 06:24 AM

Thur-gah-din

Baler 02-12-2017 07:56 AM

coo-nark
But I understand the significance of the U from the a. k-U-nark (que-nark)

both are acceptable imo.

The best most varied word in pronouncement has to be sow. I still can't believe some people say "sow" like cow, or a female pig.

Clearly the word "sow" should be pronounce like "sew" or "sow" as in "you get what you sow."
