Too many issues, about to give up
As of lately, seems to be around the last patch I can get into the game about 5% of the time. The other 95% of the time I get blank server list, or if I can get to char select it is also blank. If the rare chance I can make it into the game I don't dare zone because ill freeze and LD.
What have I tried. Everything ive searched on forums. ive tried on wifi, directly connected to my router, firewall stuff, I need a techy type person to help. give me a starting ground before I say forget it and just give up. |
tried running in compatibility mode?

This may sound stupid, but have you tried re-downloading the P99 files and re-applying the P99 patch, keeping everything completely fresh and separate from your current install? Stranger things have worked.

Most likely packet loss somewhere between you and P99.
Traceroute is your friend - google it if it doesn't ring a bell. |
what compatibility mode would you recommend?

I went into the mega thread and have also tried all the "solutions". Use WinEQ2, Compatibility Mode XP SP2, disable texture caching, I even went into my router and forwarded the port for p99. I still have issues logging in and and zoning without crashing. It's something with p99 because I have no issues with TAKP, and other EMU servers. Never have issues with other games either. I played a year ago and never had an issue. My PC specs haven't changed either. I have no idea what to do next.

well I think mine might have been a mix of wifi being really shitty and xp sp2 compatibility mode. I moved my router closer to where I use my laptop and so far so good. hoping this was all!

mine keep giving me the Error 1017, Unable to connect, you may need to re the patcher. I've done everything I can think of. Do I also need to run the game in a specific screen resolution mode if I'm getting this error?
