Newb question

Not exactly EverQuest newb, as I played it off and on, but a server newb question.

I'm assuming solo classes are in an overabundance at the top level, but what classes are underrepresented? I would imagine that enchanters and rogues aren't seen as much as other classes (one takes a decent bit of finesse and the other just doesn't really solo at all) but what are some other classes with low player level. I'm considering playing here but I don't wanna be the 900th level 50 druid with subpar gear that can't find a group, you get what I'm saying.

Honestly, the solo classes do fine, but the way damage works pet classes are always in need anyway. Clerics are of course always needed, and the class I seem to see the least of is shadowknight.

With you saying that I wanna make a shadowknight now just so he'll be ready for epic by the time it comes around, I always thought they had the coolest epic. At the same time, I hate playing tanks lol

Thanks for the info about pet classes though, that makes sense if I stop to think about it.

umm, as of lately grouping, plenty of druids, not enough shamans, quite a bit of necros, and mages

there can be a bit more of wizards, and rogues

ive been seeing alot of monks lately, and people rolling rangers

not enough bards of now, plenty of warriors, palidans, no clue

enough enchanters? there can always be more, more clerics def!, and what else, shadowknights sorta work, but after lvl 30, its gonna be a bitch to lvl him up unless you have found some great gear, and awesome guild

but id say you if you enjoy melee, roll a rog, nice stealthy guys
arcane character, id say enchanter, first 10 lvls are boring as hell, but once you're 20, enchanters get fucking fun
healing, cleric, i like this class alot, but to others, boring as shit

what ever class you pick, have fun, and dont regret it!

also so you know, all hybrid classes are slow as shit to lvl, like ranger, bard, shadowknight, palidan, slow as shit to lvl

Kibeth 02-14-2011 09:49 PM

I'm well aware that hybrids get raped as far as XP goes, sadly.

Torn between chanter and cleric.... but I'm pretty good at healers (I raided as a druid in Shards of Dalaya if anybody ever played that EQ mod) so I've got good experience with that, and chanter just never fit my style.

While it's a pain to level one up, there is nothing rarer and more desired on this server than a 46+ wizard who plays consistently. ainec.

Omnimorph 02-14-2011 10:03 PM

bards, wizards, rogues. I tend to see not many of these.

Kibeth 02-14-2011 10:16 PM

Very few wizards intrigues me.... I might head in that direction and brave the pain for a while, definitely one of the classes I expected there to be plenty of.

Well, once kunark hits wizards get a larger pool of options for quadding spots. In classic most of your typical targets (Giants / Specs / dorfs, etc) are overcamped to heck. It'll be a lot easier to level one in kunark anyways.

If anything, it's probably a good thing that there arent so many wizards, i'd feel pretty bad if that many people got burned horribly by thinking kunark was just around the corner and going ahead and rolling a wizard main.
