Iksar Shaman starting stats?
 

I was assuming i'd go all STA but after just seeing a complaint from someone who had done the same and said they could barely get any spells off without being OOM, it made me wonder about that. any advice?

He's over exaggerating by a LOT. Think of it like this. If you focus on STA for starting stats, you have more HP to use cannibalize which gives you a larger mana pool. You could max out wisdom with starting stats and you have a higher max mana pool, but less HP to convert.

It's all about how YOU want to play. It's more mana efficient to use canni, catch that sitting mana regen, and rinse and repeat than to just sit and med the whole time. Healing the damage done to you afterwards with both spells and regen, make it even more mana efficient to use canni.

As many as you can in STA would be ideal, and the rest into wis (since I believe iksar have a half decent starting wis anyway)

Dev, I rolled full STA on my Ogre and I never had any problems going OOM. Get to 24 and canni converts your HP into mana so you're golden from there on.

anyone have any suggested items i should save up for now and buy? i will have about 4-5k to spend when Kunark lands.

I would save ALL of it for Kunark. You'll appreciate why when it happens.

Buy a full suit of banded and a pair of platinum fire wedding rings and save the rest.
