Do you see knights being favoured far more over warriors? i mean for below 50 xp groups.

How well do you see bards tanking with the parry buff?

fadetree 06-22-2017 02:22 PM

Knights are already favored over wars for grindage groups, low 50's or not. I don't see this aspect making much difference. Bards I don't think will ever tank 'well'.

Bards already tank better than 'well'

agreed, but there's lots of pansy bards out there afraid to do their work. You gotta get out there and start training these scrubs, my friend.

Seen bards tank raid mobs easily already, don't see an added buff to parry making them anymore effective than they are now.

Sk/Pallies already are favored for groups from 1-50 anyway as noted above.

Warriors are built for tanking dragons and this buff to SK/Pal will never take that niche away from warriors.

fadetree 06-23-2017 08:00 AM

well, gear is gear and it's as legit for bards as well as anybody. But 'can' tank is different than 'tanks well'. I can tank on my enchanter if I gear for it.

When is this happening? Or should I say if?

This patch came out in Nov 2001. Luclin came out in Dec 2001. This patch ever hitting P99 is defiantly a 'maybe'.

1) The devs have spent lots of time on the current incarnation of P99, reworking all the damage tables and skill caps is probably a very low priority.

2) I would submit that this is a Luclin prepatch and not 'classic' in nature. The only reason they did this is to balance classes out against Beastlords and the new content that was coming out on The Moon.

3) Don't hold your breath for 2h changes or triple attack

Not to mention it's all just entirely guesswork anyways as to how to implement that balance on P99 when your starting point isn't the same.

Nov 2001 patch will come. Despite it being a stepping stone patch for luclin. Which luclin wont come. Doesn't mean it's not classic. To be entirely classic-velious. Servers would have to include the final velious patch. This is how ERA based server work. The devs will use all the evidence they have access to, to provide the best possible accurate emulation.

speculating or trying to predict when any patch on p99 will come out is fruitless. Just wait patiently if it contains something you're interested in. Talking about the mechanics is good though. Maybe someone can drum up more evidence of mechanics other than a 1 page patch note.

Excluding any classic-velious content would be Not Classic.
excluding exploits

ogre Warriors will still be the best raid tank.
