Funny how much of EQ is dependent on web resources, no in game maps or quest logs or even explanation of spells (How am I supposed to know what 'Spell: Color Skew' does?). I remember some older RPG games where you basically were given a blank map of an area, and you could add your own landmarks, same with journals. Wish EQ thought more ahead in that regard.

I remember when I first started P99 in like 2011, I was hitting the "M" key almost once a minute for like a week. I would get absolutely lost in any zone and most cities were just baffling to me. I actually made my first main toon a Human in Qeynos because that's the only zones (Blackburrow, Qeynos, Karanas) that I knew.

Hilarious how e-zmode live became compared to classic.

I know allah existed back when EQ launched but was their info anything like the wiki now?
I greatly relied on monkey business back then and that still left a lot out of the picture.

You're right how having the info ready to go gives a way diff experience than being on the edge of progression .

I would be lost without the wiki. Idk why I havn't saved the zone maps to my pc yet >_<

The strategy guide helped a lot when I started, especially for not being lost in Qeynos...
