Pet weapons

Just wondering what are some good farmable pet weaps? I know stun whips from the paw stay viable as solid pet weaps until Velious (I think). Are there any others that would be worth farming in Kunark or the old world?

EDIT: Bumping my list to the first post for ease of access

Going to be editing this post as I find more things. And will also clean it up once I'm finished. Bear with me as this is an ongoing process.

Starting with Kunark weapons:

The first one is lore so it doesn't fit the bill exactly, but I remember the Steel Hilted Flint Daggerbeing absolutely INSANE damage. Sometimes would double a pet's DPS with this one weapon alone.

Next is the Scorpikis Claw Impaler. Not that great, but procs a DoT for a little extra damage.

Dagger of Frost isn't bad, and it appears to drop off multiple creatures.

Canyoneer Pikeis nodrop but not lore, so you can have many of them. Not the greatest pet weap ever, but it procs a 25% slow, which could come in quite handy in certain situations.

Blood Point is a very very good pet weap it seems like. Not lore and has an 80 point life tap, DD+heals = win!

Wintry Club is another decent weap. It isn't lore and procs a 30ish DD. Nothing to freak out over but solid nonetheless.

Master Wu's Trance Stick appears to drop off trash in CoM, has a nice DD component to it and isn't lore. Might be something to look into depending on the rarity.

Deadwood Stave is another nice lifetap weapon. And it isn't lore, but there appears to be limited information on it. Still a nice option.

And just for use now, before kunark drops, here are some Classic pet weapons:

Obsidian Shard isn't lore. Did not know that. It isn't spectacular but 30DD proc isn't horrible.

For those of you wondering what the
lifetap whip is. It is nice as it is DD+heal, but the damage is completely underwhelming (for the most part).

And for all 2 of you who are wondering whatthe stun whip is. It stuns most critters, good for agro, interrupting spells and slightly lowering mob DPS (can't attack while stunned).

And the root sword from Lower Guk. Not only does it root the mob, but it has a very nice DD component.

And finally, the Serrated Bone Dirk Snare is incredibly useful in situations where you don't want mobs to run (such as seb when Kunark hits).

I noticed that you play a mage. Any reason you don't use your summoned weapons?

Basically, unless the weapons procs something, all 1-handers are the same thing as far as yout pet is concerned.

Cheapest procing weapons you can get are stun-whips, lifetap whips, staff in Solb (48dd with stun component) and the ranger root swords. Oh, almost forgot the axe in Highpass. Sorry, too lazy to do links or think of names today :o.

If you are fighting summoned mobs, like in SolB for example (or later on in the Hole) your summoned swords are your best bet as they prod against summoned mobs.

I use the swords of runes about 90% of the time. I have a stockpile of whips I use the other 10% of the time when I know I'm going to face healers or just need the extra help that comes with the AC on the whips and the stun proc. It isn't a big help, but often I'll take whatever I can get.

I figured since I said "pet weaps" everyone would assume I meant something along the lines of this criteria:

1) procs
2) not lore so I can farm multiples
3) cheap and/or relatively easy to farm (i don't really want to spend a TON of time farming one weap, and have it go to waste if for some reason I wipe or need to gate)

In that case, the Gnoll Hide Lariat best matches your criteria in classic (which you are already farming). You won't find anything with a proc that useful, that isn't lore and is easy to farm.

Side note - I saw a shaman pet proccing the gnoll hide lariat stun once. That's a tip for you shaman out there ;)

The main reason why Gnoll Hide Lariat is your best option is because any other procing weapon in classic drops off a single named in a single zone (with the exception of the lifetap whip which kinda sucks). The Lariat can potentially drop off of dozens and dozens of gnolls in Splitpaw as well as in South Karana. There is nothing else that comes even close in terms of availability.

It basically comes down to camp a named that may or may not spawn for a chance at maybe getting a weapons...
or clear the entrance to a zone and get anywhere from 1-4 whips per cycle.

Figured that whips were my best bet, although the root sword from guk is interesting. But I believe the drop rate is pretty horrible.

I'm mainly curious about kunark though. Is there anything that is going to be there that would fit the bill? Or should I keep a stock of whips around well into Velious?

Oh, and to clarify about how "common" of drops they need to be in my opinion. I don't mind camping 1 named for 1 weap as long as the weap isn't lore and isn't insanely rare. I wouldn't mind camping a named for a 5 hours if I would get at least 2 weaps in that time frame.

Btw, a nice proccing weapon is always that staff from SolB. The thing is a rape stick.

@ Odesues-

About the Ebony Bladed Swords. They dropped like candy for me and a monk friend the other day while camping Raster for a few hours. I think it's the common drop over the Azure Sleeves. Its just getting to him/finding him if hes already up and pathing around. He spawned 3 times for us at Raster's camp, but I doubt that's his only spawn point.

One of those annoying, run all around the whole time camps. Probably best to farm those lariats.

The sword is actually the rare - but as often as the patriarch spawns (I saw him 3 times in about 90 minutes), it might as well be common.
