Titanium client not seeing internet connection

I'm trying to set up the client on my laptop with the same client I downloaded 4 years ago and used to set it up on my desktop. I had no problem with that, but on the laptop the installation stops right at the beginning and say to check my internet connection. It's fine, but I did switch to a cat 5 cable just in case...same message.
Any ideas why the client install program can't see the internet on my laptop? My desktop is running Vista, the laptop is running 7 pro.
Thanks

What is the file that you're running?

It sounds like it's trying to get a file from a URL that doesn't exist anymore.

I bet you're right. It's a 1.18mb exe file. The file name is EverQuest Titanium Client - For Project 1999 Emulated Servers.exe and signed by Unitech LLC. Probably downloading a hack before installing client?

If you've already got it installed on your desktop, just transfer the Everquest folder to your laptop.

That sounds like malware to me - I've never seen any file with that name.

Maybe the vista path is not the same as Win 7 path?
Example:
C:\Myfrigncomp\this folder\etc...
as compared to
E:\this game\yea click this

Do you have any Group Policy edits that limit or prohibit anything?
Is it bad practice to save it on google drive or similar?

Thanks Argh, didn't realize it was that easy. I assumed there were file associations and registry entries to be made by an installer. Working fine on my laptop.
