Will SK aggro be fixed? If not, can pally replace?

So I've gotten my SK to level 30. He's my main, and I had no intention of stopping his progress. But the problem is, the main reason I loved playing him has been seriously gimped. I'm no longer able to snap aggro and be the Main Tank. Taking aggro from monks? Fat chance. My question is, will DC be fixed, or is it working as intended? If it is, does the Paladin have aggro abilities similar to the SK prior to the kunark release? I'll start a paladin if that is the case.

here are a few threads that are already covering the topic and include comments by the devs.

There is a good chance that you will see another change to disease cloud when Kunark goes live so maybe you should hold off on your decision till then?

Guinea - I was looking while you posted this. Most everything has been moved to:
Spell issues consolidated

As for the OP, this has been brought up and summarily locked by the devs about a half-dozen times since Sunday. You should post your issues in the thread I linked to above. Also, I don't play an SK but I'm sure there are others on the server who adjusted and are getting along just fine without rerolling a pally. Lots of non-classic niceties were taken away in the spell revamp.

Edit: Here is another thread on the topic

Thats a bad monk then. I play almost daily with an SK and I am a monk. If he FDs after you use clinging darkness it is just a matter of FDing here and there to keep aggro off him. Learn to not Herp-a-derp DPS and actually use your aggro wipes properly.. Oh yea and your monk should know that he has to stop auto attacking before using his FD. Glad to be of service teaching your monk to be a monk. And as for being an SK. It seems that disease cloud is actually acting as an aggro wipe. So might not want to be trying to cast that.

Well, thing is, I kinda want to start a pally at this point. I read Uthgaard's comment. Thanks for posting. I guess I should have submitted feedback before the release. From what I read, I get the impression it may be changed. Am I right? Other than that, can a paladin get snap aggro from mobs like a SK? I would like to play a short dwarf instead of a fat ogre anyways.

Just like original EQ, things will ebb and flow on this server as adjustments are constantly made. If you would rather play a paladin, then do it! :) However don't think that any class is going to be protected from spell changes or other tuning. In this case it would appear that the DC change may have gone a little too far, so I wouldn't give up hope yet.

From my understanding the best way for Pallies to get agro is to blind or stun. And right now it sounds like blind might be goofed up too, so if you were a pally now this post might be asking if you should reroll an sk :p

Honestly, just look at the spells and the skills that each class gets and experiment with them. If you find a class you really like and get good at you'll be better able to cope with these changes as they come.

Ok, I'll start one, but I'll keep the SK under my radar. If the situation doesn't change, I'll adapt. One way or another.

At least you still have better aggro than warriors.

:(

I adjusted by soloing and playing my mage.
