Explain it to me like a child. I got one because well why not they look cool and never to drop again. But I’m curious how to use it properly. Currently on my 53 ranger.

From my understanding, it works like this.. it swings like a sword from the primary slot (double attacks, can dual wield), but has the damage bonuses of a bow (double dmg bonus). When used with trueshot, it also uses the benefits of that ability (crits, increased damage for 2 minutes). In other words, it's a bow-sword and rangers do crazy dps when they use BFG with trueshot.

It's worth noting, when you BFG click yourself, you always get shot south. I think this has something to do with the swords dropped on ground always pointing north thing.

Ohh, and if you're looking to actually DPS with this thing you basically must have a tolan's bracer. You go through a stack of arrows in about 10-15 seconds

Speaking of currently seeking the planking, if you have the wing as well this is a plus.

BFG + 140ish good arrows (3+ dmg) + swiftwind + pre-avatar proc + 2-3 min fight + stationary target + trueshot disc = insane melee DPS. Chart topping as if there were cats on the moon already.

Hope you aren’t needed to speed bump afterwards though

How does it matter if you spend even higher dmg arrows? Crafting 8 dmg arrows as an example. Is it worth it?

Probably if u wanted to use ur disc on one specific mob you wish to obliterate.
