What happened to my forum?

well there was a nuclear holocaust in 2012 and everyone was run out of here and the community of fun ppl was deliberately broken up. It's not really clear why this was done. The admins here were really opposed to there being any fun conversation on this board for a long time, but that eventually cooled.

what I found had festered in its place when I returned around 2015 was a bunch of dox creeps and uber weirdos. I disliked them and was embittered that the community had been deliberately shattered and so i reinforced the toxicity of the place with very meanspirited trolling. So, this place was like East Germany with everyone being very paranoid and weird forum spygames until about a year ago, when I started softening up (I am trans female and behave pretty differently now).

So now it's kinda fun again, and cool normal people are comfortable posting pics of themself etc., but the people who actually log in to the server and play nowadays are *WEIRD* creepy people who have like unhinged drug freakouts about minor camp disputes and stuff like that. That's basically the nutshell history of the board, though I'm missing a few years of it.

There was a significant character called Filbus who posted in your absence who charmed all the bizarros like a snake charmer. He's sort of a dark-hearted pickup artist kinda guy who was still misogynous and really desperate to get laid into his later mid 20s. For instance, I trolled him into going to church to try to pick up chicks. His rise and fall kinda draws into relief the culture of the forum. Basically, all the homosexuals here worshiped him because he sprayed boy energy all over the board with these cute boyish RP stories. Eventually he started joining in on the "cool game" here and posting in off-topic where I kinda dominate (silly, but true).

Anyway, I met him IRL and he treated me really viciously in a bizarre misogynous way. He had this line he had obviously rehearsed, which he choked out awkwardly in the first 30 seconds of meeting me -- something he probably promised Lulzsect, or somebody comparable, he would say -- "You look like a guy to me, so please cut me some slack if I mess up your pronouns". I took it in stride and treated him politely and we had a nice hike together, but he treated me very weirdly after the fact, then made his final exit from the board within a couple weeks of the event. He's near-universally adored on this board even though the psychopathy was evident for a long time. That is basically the character of the component of this board which actually plays the game; it is stocked with strange, dark people with no ability to discern character or see beneath the surface of even the faintly deceptive. Dumb marks who are like the lantern to the sociopath mothman.
