FD mechanics

Sorry if this has been covered already in the past.

It is my recollection that when using FD (as an SK at least), mobs would not wipe aggro until they returned to their spawn point. It seems that on P99, if you FD, you can stand back up as soon as you are outside the mobs aggro radius.

Just curious if this is a change from classic or perhaps my recollection after 20 years is in accurate.

Mobs only start "remembering" you after level 35ish. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Has to do with how much damage you’ve dealt and as the guy above said the level of mobs you’re pulling

Since the nerf, mobs rarely mem wipe until they get back to their spawn point...

That makes complete sense because I am only level 35 at this point.

Not sure it has anything to do with damage whatsoever.

It doesn't. 100% on mobs under 35 and % chance per mob per FD and resetting at spawn/pathing point.

So is the probability of aggro wipe 100% once the mob goes back to spawn point (above level 35)? And much lower probability to aggro wipe if it has not gone back to spawn, correct?

Close, it's more like 90-95% chance to mem wipe after it returns to its spawn spot. There is a very small chance they will forget you if you get up before the return to their spawn spot. Probably 5% or something,

Feign Death Tips from Master Tekilya Wu'Tang the Silent Fist of Qeynos, Breaker of Blackburrow:

If you dont turn off auto attack - FD will fail 100% of the time and not give you a message as to why.

If a mob has started casting a spell and you FD - the spell will still land and break FD.

Mobs will social agro each other over and over if you cant get them far enough apart regardless if one or more is mem wiping.

Mobs level 35 and over will start to "remember" you while mobs 35 and under will never "remember" you after a FD.

FDing multiple times increases the chances of a mem blur with each successive FD. I think at 5 its 100% chance? Not completely sure on these mechanics since the last round of changes (years ago). Distance appears to be a factor as well.

Sneaking has no effect on if a mob will mem blur or not

In my experience its a 100% mem wipe when they reach their spawn point unless the mob gets social agro again.

As a Shadow Knight you have an advantage in split pulling over Monks. Snare the mob with Dooming Darkness (or whatever snare) and let them come running away from their spawn point a sufficient amount. FD and let the other mobs return to their spawn. The mob that you have snared will act as if he is rooted because mobs cant "walk" while snared. Make sure you dont FD too soon or the snared mob will just reagro the others. Typically this means letting the unsnared mob hit you a couple times to allow the snared mob to move far enough towards you.

Blood Ember Greaves are 10000% worth the 40k and are spammable. Allows you to spam FD with no cooldown and a mere 3s cast and no mana cost (spell cast is 1.5s). Completely changes what you can do as a SK as far as pulling goes.

With the Blood Ember Gauntlets (free click snare) and the Blood Ember Greaves (free click FD) you become the best room break specialist in the game and do not have to rely on mana anymore.

If you rolled Ogre or Troll SK immediately delete your character and re-roll Dark Elf for ultimate fashion.
