Because I like playing a unique character, I decided to check counts on all Race/Class combinations. Server said population 420 when I logged in, 118 were anonymous. So that leaves 302 sampling size. Here is a breakdown of the numbers for those that would like to know.

I don't think a single sampling is going to be accurate. I think you need to take samples from 6 to 8 different times a day for each day for at LEAST a week.

Then yes.... make pie charts.

let me start by saying that I'm a huge fan of this thread and project and encourage you to continue with it.

I agree with the above that you should take multiple samples at a few different times of day and on a few different days.

For example I think you will find more solo classes during off hours but during peek times people (who have multiple toons) will switch characters and play in groups.

Also, you will find that once a cleric is able to do 50% rez many of them will go anon so that should be taken into consideration. Just one example. The mage number also seems to be way off in my opinion. I did something similar myself a while back (not as in depth as this) and mage numbers were on par with druids.
