Cant install latest DirectX to use wineq2

It says "this software hasnt passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatability with Windows XP"

Im using windows XP. Do i have to use VISTA or something?

You only need directx 9.0c to run EQ - you need that version to install a specific dx31.dll file.
