Green guilds?!

What's going on with the lack of guilds recruiting specifically for green? With the exception of maybe a couple I'm not seeing much hype surrounding guild recruitment for green, specifically raid focused guilds. Is it just assumed the already established blue raid guilds are moving to green or what?

I was kinda wondering the same thing, even under the Guild Discussion page I don't really see much with new Guild's being established and what not. I know of at least 3 Guild's that are going to be there those being Castle, ALS and Grey Company which I am not sure if they are a new Guild or one of the one's coming from Blue.

I've been wondering too as I don't want to make one myself unless I have to. I definitely want some folks to chat/group with though once green is live.

I think we'll probably be seeing some more guild postings once we're a bit closer to launch. It's still over a month away, which is a fair amount of time.

My primary concern is that green doesn't attract enough long-term players to maintain a healthy, sizable population because players on Blue are just so utterly, ridiculously invested at this point that the idea of starting fresh is unfathomable to them. I hope that's not the case - frankly, I'd be delighted if Blue turned into a ghost town because it's just way too old and bloated with twinks left and right - but alas. :|

Long term will always be lower than that nostalgia tick at the start, even for things like WoW and it definitely happened in the EQ progression servers. We'll see how it turns out, could be that it blows away everyone's expectations.

Oh I am sure green will be filled with more guilds than you can join and more players than you can group with.

I have a guild formed for Green, and the reason we haven’t advertised is because the core is super solid and we have added several players with similar interests. Several of us have off 3-5+ days for launch and we are excited for the grind. Not everyone is into that type of neckbeard though.

If you aren’t a power gamer racing for server firsts, then just have fun with the launch, make friends etc. get a solid group for launch, or just join the random pickups. Before any legitimate raiding takes place, there will be quite a while before guilds “should” be spamming the boards with recruitment needs. And if done right, I for one am a fan of knowing a player in game or atleast vetting their posts/discord conduct if they are unknown to me (unless brought in by recommendation). And there will be plenty of time to know and group with those quality people and players on green.

The portcullis has been raised

I am also rather surprised people aren't pre-forming guilds for <Green>. And yes! As announced in the <Castle> thread that I will be leading <Castle> on Green. Recruitment will be open to all. <Castle> is all about providing an environment for enjoying EQ with people you like.

Plus, raiding will be on the menu.

If you're curious about rules and stuff, the number one (only?) rule will be keeping guild chat comfortable. Members are expected to be polite to others. Swearing is OK (most current EQ players are adults, let's be real), but slurs are not. Raging at other members is not ok. If you have an issue with another player in guild or out of guild, use /tells and/or speak with an officer. All in all, keep guild chat nice and not awkward. We have had very few players fail to abide by this, but all of them were removed. :)

People interested in joining <Castle> Green, please inbox me. We will also need additional officers, so please express your interest and experience/qualifications/inspiration.
