Train Sense Heading necessary ?

I've had 2 characters with Sense Heading bound to a key and it won't go up until I put 1
training point in it. The wiki says no just want to confirm it's now needed before editing it.

You don't need to, but it took my cleric about 30 levels of constantly pressing sense heading each time he moved before he skilled up to (1). After hitting (1) he rocketed up!

Taunt and Sense heading can actually go up that first point through use, but for some reason it takes hundreds of uses sometimes. If you stick a point in them they go up very quickly from that point forward. No clue why.

When making a new character, you should place 1 into Taunt if you have it, sense heading, begging, bind wound, and Mend if you have that

1 point in skills.

Put one point into Sense Heading! This is not needed, but it will significantly help it increase faster! I didn't believe it until I tested it.

It normally took until my character was level 2 or 3 to level up to 1 if I did NOT put a point into it.

It was maxed out at 200 by the time I was level 3 if I did put a point into it.

Ahh Ok I'll leave the wiki as is. I had no idea it took that long normally I just train but wanted to check. Thanks everyone.

I normally put 10 points into sense heading at the trainer. Really helps get over that initial hurdle of skill gain difficulty.

I also bind my W key to the same hotkey as sense heading so every time I walk I use sense heading.

Roll dwarf and your sense heading will level up right quick.
