/target required line of sight

Why was this changed? I know for a fact that it is not correct, since from at least LDoN and before /target a_critter_name would target through doors?

I'm guessing here... but EQlive is EQ easy mode. Things are more challenging here on p99

I can only speak for low level zones but I've managed it in places like CB (to see if a slaver was up in the hut) and such like... it does work.

What the range is on /target mob, I've no idea...could be less than Live?

Doors don't count towards line of sight obstruction.

Ahh, Thanks for the clarification.

As was brought up on the patch notes, will this apply to non-mob entities such as corpses also?

Will this effect the ability to /tar a npc body that fell though the world after killing it?
Not too sure on the details on falling though the world if it's still in LoS.

Also, this server bases its rules on the kunark era, not LDoN or any other expansion. If target line of site was required for kunark, its required on this server.

I'm not sure how /target works nowadays on live, but I always remembered /target working on mobs and PCs out of line of sight, as long as they were within a certain range.

The actual /target command wasn't even introduced until about halfway through Kunark though.

Patch notes when they were introduced: http://www.tski.co.jp/baldio/patch/20000830.html

Quote:

The "/target [name]" command can be used to target other players by name. Please note that this ability is subject to the range to the target.
