Advice: Wood Elf Ranger of Tunare - Stein of Moggok
 

OK, I'm a level 19 Wood Elf Ranger of Tunare. I have the Barkeep's Compendium. Naturally, I'm KOS in Oggok.

A guildie is suggesting that maybe Wolf Form might work?

Any thoughts on how I might pull off the turn in without blowing my good factions?

Maybe have a high level enchanter charm him for you?

Or sit in /list for several hours for a guise when you are higher level.

There's some other tricks here as well like using harmony/lull + invis.

I'm crazy enough to try running in invis, giving him the book quick, dying horribly, running in invis again to retrieve my corpse with the Stein on him.

Simple! Invis in there.....get behind the man....sneak....drop invis....give it to him.....and then.....ok, this is where it gets tricky, the escape. If you try to invis yourself, you is doomed. Unless you gots you a fancy invis ring.

So, a potion of invis maybe? Or harmony the guards nearby before you do it (from the other side of the wall), or have someone invis you standin somewhere safer.

You would have to sneak, open the trade with the npc.
I think they will turn to you after the quest completes so an invis cast on you with trade window open before confirming trade might help.

Do NOT hail him when sneaking btw.

Sneak puts you at indifferent. You should be able to harmony do hand in and reinvs. Pot is a good safe idea

He'd have to have someone else help still since harmony is lv 22 for rangers.

Well, I'm about to be level 19. I could wait until level 22. Just completing the quest to have the item to gift to guildies, so there's not a mega-rush.

EDIT:

But if I'm reading this correct, I would have to get in there and cast Harmony and NOT get interrupted when I inevitably get attacked for breaking invis by starting a cast. Then, when Harmony is up, hand the book, but DON'T hit trade yet. Cast Camo. Then finish the trade at indifferent...

Assuming nothing else in the room will aggro you when you are sneaking at the turn in then you probably could do it right now and just take a death or run like hell

I done the quest a few times with sneakin style. But I can hide sneak away, so was no troubles. Casting to re-invis is the tricky bit.

Insta-cast invis ring would do it though!
