interesting spell casting quirk from classic

Anyone remember the trick where you could skip global cooldown on a spell(only a single spell) by timing the recast on it to prfectly match up with casting a different spell? it was actually the first way people found to "cheat" the global cooldown, and i don't think it was ever patched out.
