That manastones don't work outside of classic content and suddenly feel so much better about the misfortune of not getting one pre The Great Merge.

Manastone is pretty worthless. The best class in the game at using it to any capacity post classic is Wizards using a combo of Scorned Staff + Epic + Manastone for free mana anywhere in the world.. Or rather at the cost of one casting of gate and time to get the proper efficiency down. Druids are close second, Clerics distant third at best and nobody else has any use for it.

Rubicite is worthless outside of fashion color that gets retired.

The guise is in a defacto reality sense the best item

But yeah... Manastone can't even be used in every classic zone. All expansion content its disabled too.

They're all useful for some classes in some situations.

There have been at least a few times in the last week where I wished I had a manastone even though I'm a shaman. It's not exactly rare to have a lot of HP (or a healer with mana to spare) but low mana even though I need more mana ASAP rather than after a few minutes of cannidancing.

Rubicite isn't worthless. Some of the pieces are arguably BIS before fear for a variety of classes. The breastplate's regen is a relatively big deal for a number of classes and will continue to be the only readily-obtainable +regen from an item for at least the first few months of Kunark since competition will be stiff for iksar BP and INSANE for fungis.

I agree that guise is the "best" legacy item, but it really is only "useful" for large races or someone trying to bug through a doorway. It's niche, but at least continues to have its niche use outside of classic zones.

Now, maybe these things aren't worth their prices or the annoyance of camping them in the eyes of some people, given their limited uses. But that's another matter.

Its true, this early on, the manastone is god tier. However, its the steepest plummet with patches. Everyone needs to yank mana out of their ass at some point but the amount of times thats needed in the zones were on right now is going down soon :p

Shaman is a good canidate too of course. Its not that worse off a trade with CB

Yeah, post-classic manastone is only good for leveling fast. I mean, who even makes alts any more?

It's totally worth devoting 100+ hours to camping a manastone so you can save 50 hours over the course of your everquest career leveling alts.

Maybe for a lazy shaman. A great shaman can dance and manage HP at a better ratio with their own spells. It takes work but nothing beats the mana flow you can get with a regen bp+regen buff. When kunark comes, fungi tunic + JBB and you can chain nuke while gaining mana non stop.

If the drop rate were more like it's supposed to be, I'd say it's worth it to camp one and sell it for plat, but with the decreased drop rates it's now to the point that you can basically farm that same amount of plat in probably less than the time it would take to get a manastone.

way better on a druid than a wizard post Kunark

not even a question for debate, theyre essential druid items and every non druid should feel bad about even owning one after Kunark

sell them to the druids

Just port to WC, get PotG, and gate back to where you were. More efficient than a manastone.
