Rage (SHM BUFF) not sticking

I'm currently level 50 troll shaman in Droga and the Rage buff is not sticking...it will land on me and then go away less than 1 second later. I am not doing anything to make this happen. I have tried to remove all buffs and no result.

I've noticed this with Frenzy as well

It drains mana as an 'upkeep'. If you cast it with no mana, it will wear off....as its buff effect will not continue if you dont have the mana to do so....such as, after a rez. Try Casting it on yourself when you have like 50% mana and see how long it lasts. As long as you have mana, the buff will remain.

It's supposed to stick regardless. I fixed this a few patches ago. Is everyone getting it again?

just tested this in ec: it drains my mana to 0 in about 45 seconds at around full mana...then may mana bounces back and forth between 0 and 6% constantly and Rage stays in effect...

something seriously wrong with this buff now

PS my mana bounces back and forth between 2 and 106 mana with Rage on, standing up

edit: just noticed i posted before u Kanras

Yeah, this is the hacky fix. The client was automatically canceling the buff when mana was depleted.

I thought it was supposed to? Thats the whole point of it draining mana? It needs mana to stay in use? So if you're OOM, buff will fade?

Pyrocat 04-28-2011 02:19 AM

No it was supposed to be a "oh shit I'm OOM let me cast this and hopefully melee the mob to death / escape" kind of thing. The fact that it drained mana kept it from being OP.
