pretty much my guy is at 201 wisdom and just wondering what are some better things i can use


jasper gold earring x2-these i am wanting to replace, whats better? not sure if chants cant make platnium jasper, never seen em before
silver ruby vail though i am wanting to replace this
blood stained tunic, figure by the time im 40+ whats something i can replace this with?

whats some good arms out there for shamans? use platnium arm band atm

what good hands, shoulders and feet are out there for shamans?

If at 35 you have 201 wis, you are ignoring HP gear, which from all the research ive done, is a mistake.

Canni makes hp gear alot more valuable than wis gear, as it serves two functions: mana regen through canni, and well, staying alive. Wis is only good for mana.

I go for mostly a mix, I value hp gear above everything but wis comes in second, ac third.

Garyogburn is right though... you have about 20 more wis than you need, swap stuff out for HP gear.
I can't tell you how sad it makes me to see shaman with a pair of wis rings instead of 5ac/55hp's or even 4/45's.

Yeah, ring ears and neck are the big HP slots. Platinum Fire Wedding Rings are your friend. When you get more money, black sapphire electrum earrings and black sapphire platinum neck.

< 50 it doesn't really matter if you have wisdom or hp because gear is kind of not important to a shaman. But once you get canni 3 and torpor, stacking hp is going to make you way better than wisdom, so why not just do it now.

On The Sleeper I don't think I broke 200 wis until Planes of Power (as a barbarian), and I was by far the best & best geared shaman on the server.

We had a (slightly derogatory) term for Shaman who wore wisdom rings/earrings/GEBs etc back in the day... Druman.

To answer the question more directly, at this point the most effective shaman gear in the game is very expensive. Especially chest... there's really nothing worth using besides a fungi which obviously is extremely expensive right now. An Iksar BP would serve you well also, but they're also fairly expensive (price will begin to plummet though). Velious solves a lot of gear options for shaman, though. Vindicator alone drops the best shaman bp and boots until like PoP. For arms I would go with black embroidered sleeves. For shoulders a tattered mantle is good. Platinum Tiara and Gatorscale Legs are also very good shaman items.

Not to start an arguement Mardur, but you do realize the OP's signature lists his character is in his 30's right? If he's asking about upgrading from silver jewelry, I'm guessing he doesn't have piles of plat to throw around.

All your talk of Canni 3 and Black Sapphire jewelry and Fungi Tunics is like telling the kid working at McDonalds, "Just get a better job and buy a Ferrari, no big deal."

OP: Look at the P99 wiki Link, its got some good cheap gear for a shaman.

Luckily for a shaman, esp an Iksar, nothing is really that outrageously priced like some other classes. You can probably piece together a set that will last you to plane gear for 2k.

Edit: If you're willing to sit, Jarsath Scale rots in Karnors all day long... grab some of that for free. Looking at the stats here I'm having trouble finding a piece that I wouldnt wear, especially for free. Most pieces are leaps and bounds better than the garbage stats on Totemic.

I realize that, but I guess my point is don't worry about upgrades right now. They're all mostly out of his reach. That's the point of my post, the only gear that will actually improve your character at all is going to be expensive except for stuff like plat fire wedding rings etc.

Being a 50+ shaman is expensive. Being a <50 shaman is kinda... insignificant.

Shaman is one of the absolute best classes in the game right now, but you don't get to hit shaman on character creation and automatically reap the benefits. It takes some work.

Ok I can agree with this. It's still not an excuse to just say screw it, Fungi or nothing, and wear banded and +3 wis rings. I think the OP is looking for the middle step between.

I made it to 53 on my necro still wearing small cloth pants.... my single most expensive piece of equipment is the runed cowl from Lguk.

It's not because I can't afford upgrades, its because there's no point. I haven't felt like i needed more mana, or hp up to this point. Now I'm starting to feel it a bit in the rougher Kunark zones, but up until this point? Have had absolutely no need to. You're in your 30's now, not likely to be meleeing and probably have your pet to do the work for you. Just focus on leveling to 50+, if you want to upgrade gear, then try to Xp in dungeons that will drop upgrades for you and try to win the rolls. IMO its not worth putting the effort in now to try and upgrade.

how expensive is the plat fire weddings rings going for anyway, out of curiousity. I doubt my lowbie level 9 shammy can afford it anyway lol
