Getting Dire Wolf Stalker to spawn in Ice Clad
 

Anyone with experience doing this mob... how long did it take you to get him to spawn?

Took me 5 minutes. Kill every dire wolf and frost giant around dragon portal.

This ^ but don't limit yourself to the dragon portal. Run around the whole island with the portal on.

Also don't just kill the wolves. It took me a couple hours to spawn the stalker each time I did the quest (twice), probably just got pretty unlucky.

I had extensive time to notice one thing though - if you only hunt the wolves, after a while, there will be no wolves left, or so few that you will have a really hard time finding any. I think they share spawn tables with the giants.

So unfortunately you have to kill wolves and the giants, and eat the faction hits if that's relevant.

I slaughtered every wolf I could find on the island and had a druid friend hang out and check track, still took me a few hours
