Was wanting to role a fresh iksar necro on blue. Is the server dead? Is it too late? Impossible to get a pre-nerf CoS?

Not too late at all. Blue is great atm. You might have to solo a bit in the early levels. It’s easy to find or form groups 30+

Also prenerfed cos are not hard to find but you will have to wait till later levels to farm the money needed, they are quite expensive if totally worth the price imho..

Not at all. But you may enjoy the 'journey' more on green.

Honestly, compared to things like manastones, holgresh elder beads, seaworthy planking, etc. Circlet of Shadow is positively cheap at under <30k still. Heck, lots of stuff that still drops costs more than that.

People farmed a lot during the seven years of Kunark here (I personally added several to the economy).

Is CoS even required? It's really more of a convenience thing. Its about on the same level as jboots, can live without it.

nerf CoS only few hundred pp.. think the difference in cost justifies buying this one. Jboots only 5k is not bad either.

I'd say it's borderline required if you are 55+. Below that, it's not. Being able to instant invis after standing up from a FD allows you to do things you otherwise could not.

No iksar option on green yet, and either way necros go great without gear.
